Les Malheurs d'Alexandre Sanine shows the ravages of time on the copy of Polikushka that Alexander Sanin made in 1919. By isolating and slowing down the most damaged parts of the copy of this film by one of the pioneers of Soviet cinema, I managed to create an object with abstract forms and, insidiously, to give another life to a leading work of art.
