Going to School
GOING TO SCHOOL (IR A LA ESCUELA) FULL LENGTH FILM brings us into the lives of children and youth with disabilities in a Los Angeles middle school. Scenes shot in special education and inclusive classrooms show the determination of young students to learn. At the Parents' Resource Network, a trailer parked outside the school district headquarters, a mother tearfully seeks help from a parent advocate. Together they prepare for an IEP (Individualized Education Program) session for her daughter. The guidance one mother receives from another fills her with confidence and a smile. GOING TO SCHOOL (IR A LA ESCUELA) is a story for the entire community. The film captivates and informs families, policy makers, the public, students and teachers at all academic levels.
